About EcoInject

Built by people who've worked these wells

EcoInject was founded by a team with over 50 years of combined experience in Alberta oil and gas — spanning engineering, field operations, data science, and technology commercialization. We've seen firsthand how methanol injection decisions get made: often based on rules of thumb and worst-case assumptions rather than actual well conditions.

We built EcoInject because we knew the data existed to do this better. The company was developed through the Avatar Innovations program, an energy-focused technology accelerator, and shaped by direct engagement with operators across Western Canada.

Our team has extensive experience piloting and scaling new technology in the field — which means we understand what it takes to get something working on real infrastructure, not just in a lab.

Why it matters

Focused on Alberta gas operations

We're based in Alberta and focused on the challenges facing Western Canadian gas operations: high chemical costs, increasing emissions scrutiny, and aging infrastructure that still needs to produce reliably.

We're not trying to replace your field teams. We're giving them better information — and, when they're ready, the automation to act on it.

The team

50+ years of combined experience

EcoInject is built by a team that has worked across upstream engineering, field operations, industrial data systems, and energy technology commercialization.

Todd Zerbin

Chief Executive Officer

Leads EcoInject's commercialization with deep upstream engineering and operator experience. Focused on scaling methane-reduction technology through operator pilots and field deployment.

Colin Haggerty, P.Eng

Chief Operating Officer

Leads installation and operational scaling of EcoInject technology across operator infrastructure, ensuring reliable field performance and pilot validation.

Where we help

Field-ready for operations teams

EcoInject supports field teams with actionable recommendations or automated control depending on how much oversight your operation wants to retain. The goal is the same: safer wells, lower chemical spend, and cleaner injection records.
